The room
Wedged beside the Ibiza airport runway with planes screaming overhead, DC-10 began as an illegal-feeling Monday after-party and became the island's last bastion of no-VIP, no-frills hedonism. The Terrace, low ceiling, open sides, sweat dripping from above, is where the underground goes when the rest of Ibiza turns into a bottle-service theme park.
Reputation
The credible heart of Ibiza: raw, sweaty, anti-glamour. Has had its run-ins with the law (a famous 2008 police raid) which only burnished the outlaw mystique.
What makes it singular
No VIP culture, planes overhead, the Terrace. It deliberately rejects the glamour the rest of Ibiza sells.
